[DMO Activity Report April 2026] Report on Tourism PR Activities & Participation in Local Events
The Nasushiobara City Tourism Bureau conducts various PR activities in different locations with the aim of promoting the charms of Nasushiobara and encouraging more people to visit. This time, we will deliver a report on the tourism PR and local events held in April 2026. ③ R8 Nikko National Park Clean Campaign in Shiobara Ahead of the spring sightseeing season, Tourism Bureau staff also participated in the R8 Nikko National Park Clean Campaign in Shiobara, along Route 400 and walking trails, which are major tourist routes in Nasushiobara City. Together with local residents and businesses involved in Shiobara, they picked up trash and cleaned up fallen leaves, creating a beautiful landscape where visitors can enjoy their time.
② Itamuro Onsen: Preparation and Raising of Carp Streamers We participated in the annual preparation and raising of carp streamers in Itamuro Onsen. Working together with local residents, we carried out the preparation work on April 14th (Tuesday) and raised the brightly colored carp streamers the following day, April 15th (Wednesday). As a spring tradition in Itamuro Onsen, it added vitality and color to the community. The carp streamers will remain on display until around the end of May.
③ Welcoming passengers with mascots at Fukushima Airport On Tuesday, April 28th, we participated in an event to welcome a charter flight from Taiwan arriving at Fukushima Airport. Nasushiobara City’s brand character “Miruhi,” Tochigi Prefecture’s “Tochimaru-kun,” and other mascots from Fukushima Prefecture warmly welcomed the arriving passengers at the airport. We also distributed tourist guidebooks during the welcome, which provided a great opportunity to actively promote Nasushiobara City.
