[DMO Activity Report October 2025] Report on Promotional Activities and Business Partnerships

The Nasushiobara City Tourism Bureau conducts various PR activities in different locations with the aim of promoting the charms of Nasushiobara and encouraging more people to visit. This time, we will report on the tourism PR activities and business collaborations that were held in October 2025. ① Exhibiting at the Senbonmatsu Marche held at Nasu Senbonmatsu Ranch! On October 12th (Sun), the Nasushiobara City Tourism Bureau exhibited at the Senbonmatsu Marche held at Nasu Senbonmatsu Ranch. Although it was still a little early for the autumn leaves, the weather was fine for sightseeing, and many tourists came to visit. At the tourism bureau booth, we sold tourism bureau products and local souvenirs, mainly focusing on seasonal Shiobara Plateau radishes, and it was very well received. The radishes that we prepared in large quantities sold out quickly, making it a great opportunity to promote the autumn flavors of Nasushiobara. ② Shiobara Onsen Sightseeing Horse-drawn Carriage “Tote Carriage” Revives Operation After Approximately 5 Years! The Tote Carriage is a sightseeing horse-drawn carriage that began operation in the late Meiji period as a means of transportation connecting the station and the hot spring town. Although its operation was regrettably suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic and various other factors, it has been revived as part of the Japan Tourism Agency’s subsidized project “Regional Tourism Charm Enhancement Project,” re-evaluating its value as a unique tourist resource of Nasu Shiobara. It operated on October 18th and 19th, attracting attention from the media and receiving high satisfaction ratings from passengers. The residents of Shiobara Onsen were also delighted to see it again, expressing their nostalgia. Please refer to this link for the latest operating schedule. ③ Promoting Nasushiobara City at the Tochigi Prefecture Tourism Information Business Meeting (held in Tokyo) The Nasushiobara City Tourism Bureau participated in the Tochigi Prefecture Tourism Information Business Meeting, which provides travel product development and tourism information to travel agencies and media. We conducted tourism promotion activities aimed at attracting visitors to Nasushiobara City, mainly to major travel agencies from all over Japan. We provided information on various spots in the city, focusing on hot springs, and received positive feedback from travel agencies such as, “I didn’t know there was a place like this,” and “This was helpful in sending out tourists,” making it a valuable opportunity that will serve as a catalyst for future efforts to attract visitors. ④ Briefing Session on Integration with Accommodation Data Analysis Tools for the Japan Tourism Agency Subsidized Project (Area-Based DX Plan) A briefing session was held regarding integration with accommodation data analysis tools related to the Japan Tourism Agency subsidized project “Regional Revitalization and High Value-Added Project for Tourist Destinations and the Tourism Industry (Area-Based DX Plan),” which has been selected by the Nasushiobara City Tourism Bureau. This project is promoting the construction of a CRM platform (a system that centrally manages and analyzes customer information such as basic customer information, reservation history, and preferences, with the aim of providing personalized services tailored to each customer and acquiring repeat customers) for accommodation facilities throughout the city. Explanations regarding the integration of the tools used by each business operator with the analysis system were given to the multiple business operators who gathered.
