Katsura tree
Okuranda introduced it in his book "Enkei Kisho" as "a large Katsura tree like a giant snake."
This large Katsura tree is mentioned as the "Moukatsukeiju" (a large Katsura tree resembling a giant snake) in the book "Enkei Kisho" (Enkei Kishō), written in 1890 by Okuranden, one of the three benefactors of Shiobara, and which introduced Shiobara hot springs to the world.
