[DMO Activity Report May 2026] Report on Tourism PR Activities & Monitor Tour Implementation

The Nasushiobara City Tourism Bureau conducts various PR activities in different locations with the aim of promoting the charms of Nasushiobara and encouraging more people to visit. This time, we will deliver a report on the tourism PR and monitor tour activities held in May 2026. ① Cheese Town Nasu ’26 On Saturday, May 9th and Sunday, May 10th, we set up a booth at “Cheese Town NASU 2026,” held in front of Nasushiobara Station, with the aim of making Nasu a cheese town, and promoted the charms of Nasushiobara City. In addition to tourism PR such as an SNS follow campaign, we also sold Nasushiobara brand “Shiobara turnips” harvested first thing in the morning and strawberries from our city, providing an opportunity to convey the appeal of agricultural products as well as dairy products. ② Cheese Tour Implementation In conjunction with “Cheese Town NASU 2026,” we conducted a 2-day, 1-night monitor tour, “See, Learn, and Eat! Cheese Town Nasu ’26,” which allowed participants to experience Nasu Shiobara City’s dairy farming, food, and tourism resources. The tour was packed with activities, including visits to spots that are normally inaccessible and overnight stays at hot spring resorts. In the survey conducted after the tour, we received a variety of opinions from many participants, making it a monitor tour that led to a rediscovery of the city’s charms. ③ TIC Tokyo Hometown Pride! Charm Promotion Fair On Friday, May 15th, we participated in the “Hometown Pride! Charm Promotion Fair” held in front of “TIC TOKYO” in Marunouchi, Tokyo Station. This time, we sold milk, drinking yogurt, and cheese for the first time, and were able to promote dairy products from Nasushiobara City. In addition, Nasushiobara City’s brand character “Miruhi” also made an appearance and livened up the event together with Tochigi Prefecture’s “Tochimaru-kun” and Tokushima Prefecture’s “Sudachi-kun”.
