The 7th ONSEN Gastronomy Walking Tour in Nasushiobara 2026 – Higashi Nasuno

Saturday, October 31, 2026

In 2026, it will be held in the Higashi-Nasuno area!

The setting for 2026 is the Higashi-Nasuno area, accessible on foot from Nasushiobara Station. With the theme “Experience Nasushiobara’s History, Industry, Wine, and Dairy Culture on Foot from the Station,” the approximately 6.5km course will allow you to experience the region’s unique culture and culinary delights, including its Meiji-era development history, industries represented by Bridgestone, local wines, agriculture, dairy farming, and livestock raising. Six gastropoints along the course will offer dishes made with local ingredients, as well as wine and sake. Walk, taste, and learn as you experience the charm of Nasushiobara in a way you wouldn’t on a typical tourist trip. After your walk, refresh your mind and body in Nasushiobara’s renowned hot springs. Enjoy a special day fully experiencing the charm of Nasushiobara, feeling its history, culture, food, and the warm hospitality of its people.

What is ONSEN Gastronomy Walking?

“Gastronomy” is a travel concept popular mainly in Europe and North America that focuses on enjoying the relationship between food and local cuisine, customs, traditions, and history, nurtured by the climate and environment of a region, and experiencing the local food culture. ONSEN Gastronomy Tourism combines this with Japan’s world-renowned “onsen” (hot springs). “Exploring” the region on foot, “eating” local specialties, and finally “soaking” in a hot spring at the end of the trip—the appeal of ONSEN Gastronomy Tourism lies in being able to enjoy all of this at once.
