ONSEN & Gastronomy Walking in Nasushiobara 2020 – Itamuro

Registration for the [ONSEN Gastronomy Walking Tour in Nasushiobara 2020 – Itamuro] is now closed as we have reached full capacity. Thank you for your reservations.

Set in Itamuro Onsen, a hot spring resort boasting a 1,000-year history and designated as a “National Health Resort” by the Ministry of the Environment, Tochigi Prefecture will host its first-ever Onsen & Gastronomy Tourism event. Participants will enjoy visiting famous Itamuro Onsen landmarks such as Itamuro Onsen Shrine, the Kadoya Ryokan (a nationally registered tangible cultural property), and Kinomata Valley, as well as savoring dishes made with cheese from Nasushiobara City, which boasts the largest raw milk production in Honshu, and locally grown vegetables. Following the walk, an Onsen & Gastronomy Tourism exchange meeting and symposium will be held in front of the former Aoki family Nasu villa, a Japan Heritage site. At the symposium, participants can enjoy a meal while directly hearing from producers, experiencing a different kind of gastronomy than the walk.
