Nasushiobara City received the Silver Award at the GD Awards, which certify sustainable tourist destinations.

Nasushiobara City has received the Silver Award in the Green Destinations Awards (GD), which certifies sustainable tourist destinations, becoming the first city in the Kanto region to receive this award. It is the fifth city in Japan to receive the award. The GD Awards are administered by the Dutch international certification body Green Destinations, and the city has been selected as one of the “Top 100 Sustainable Tourist Destinations in the World” for the third consecutive year, in 2021 and 2022. This time, the city applied in September with the aim of further enhancing its international credibility and brand power, and was awarded the prize in recognition of its properly functioning regulations regarding nature conservation.
